The work seems to want to get softer and softer. Whispering to me in the studio rather than speaking loudly. This work brings me to a calm. It was long done before I could call it done. It hung on my studio wall complete. Whispering to other paintings as I continue the work. The subtle and intense detail in the upper left of the painting takes you to another world. The generous amount of space in the work allows the eye to rest and delight in the quiet subtitles.
When I see Hush Wild no.12, I think of wild nature. A progression and changing, growth and death, beyond our control. Hush Wild works speak of embracing the wild, finding beauty in the things we cannot control. Comfort in the act of letting go.
Mother nature within and around me is fluid, rough, and delicate. This work also.
