Tiny, low-stakes actions. getting into motion

Rituals: 5-minute studio visit daily.

    • Microbrave action: Write/doodle your freeze’s name on a scrap of paper. Place it somewhere visible.

    • Closing ritual: Say: “I see you, and I don’t need to fight you.”

    • Check-in: “If my freeze were an animal, how would it move?”

    • Microbrave action: Make 3 lines/marks that mimic that animal’s motion.

    • Closing ritual: Shake your hands like paws/wings/fins.

    • Check-in: “Which art material feels most approachable today?”

    • Microbrave action: Spend 5 minutes simply touching, smudging, or laying down color with that material,  no image needed.

    • Closing ritual: Place the tool down gently and thank it.

    • Check-in: “What makes my freeze louder? What makes it softer?”

    • Microbrave action: Draw/paint a little “volume dial.” Place your finger on it and turn it down one notch.

    • Closing ritual: Take one slow exhale.

    • Check-in: “What’s one mark that feels easy today?”

    • Microbrave action: Fill a page with only that one mark (dots, lines, swirls, scratches).

    • Closing ritual: Notice how your hand feels after repetition.

    • Check-in: “What small joy can I carry into my art today?”

    • Microbrave action: Pick one joyful color/texture and use it freely for 2–3 minutes.

    • Closing ritual: Smile or hum for a breath.

    • Check-in: “What do I notice has shifted since last week?”

    • Microbrave action: Collect your week’s scraps, swatches, and marks. Arrange them in a small “Spring bundle.”
