Week 3 : Summer (Hyperarousal / Play)

Harness rising energy without tipping into overwhelm.

Rituals: “permission to make a mess” days.

Creative asks: playful experiments

    • Check-in: “What does ‘messy’ mean to me today?”

    • Microbrave action: Make a mess page,  splash, scribble, smudge, drip. No fixing allowed.

    • Closing ritual: Place your hand flat on the page and whisper: “I allow this.”

    • Check-in: “Where does my body want to move?”

    • Microbrave action: Stand while working. Make 10 fast marks using your whole arm.

    • Closing ritual: Shake out your arms and laugh once (even fake laughter counts).

    • Check-in: “What happens when I let go of control?”

    • Microbrave action: Mix colors or make marks with your eyes closed for 2 minutes.

    • Closing ritual: Open your eyes and notice the surprise without judgment.

    • Check-in: “What does failure mean to me right now?”

    • Microbrave action: Create a page meant to fail,  wrong colors, awkward shapes, messy marks. Let it be bad on purpose.

    • Closing ritual: Place your hand on the page and say:
“Making mistakes does not make me a failure. Making money mistakes does not make me unsafe.”

    • Check-in: “What does speed feel like right now?”

    • Microbrave action: Fill a page with 10 quick 10-second scribbles. Don’t pause or edit.

    • Closing ritual: Close your eyes and take one slow grounding breath.

    • Check-in: “How is my body present with me today?”

    • Microbrave action: Trace or do a blind contour drawing of your hand, foot, or shadow. Let marks overlap, distort, multiply.

    • Closing ritual: Touch the traced body part gently and say “thank you.”

    • Check-in: “What scraps or leftovers can become art?”

    • Microbrave action: Tear/cut random paper, layer it fast into a playful collage.

    • Closing ritual: Press palms together and take a deep breath.

✨ By the end of Week 3, you will have:

  • Practiced embodied, messy making.

  • Tried 4–5 new playful mark-making strategies.

  • Created without perfectionism or pressure.

  • Built confidence in channeling energy into art instead of overwhelm.
